Malaria Free : South Africa

South Africa Malaria Risk Areas:
Malaria is endemic in the Lowveld areas of the Mpumalanga and Limpopo Provinces, and in KwaZulu Natal Province it is endemic to the far northeastern area (bordering on Mozambique). So if you are travelling to these areas of South Africa, please consult a heath-care professional for the latest advice on malaria prophylaxis as it changes regularly.
With the correct medical advice, malaria should not present any problems to travellers to the malaria areas of South Africa. In fact, millions of people do visit these areas without any of them contracting the disease.

However, should you not want to visit a malaria or potential malaria area, there are many, many malaria-free game reserve areas in South Africa. Some of the more popular reserves are mentioned below, by province, but this list is in no way extensive: (*NB. None of the private game lodges in the malaria free areas of South Africa are given below, as there are far too many to mention).
