Swartberg PassDay 1: Cape Town to Montague
Explore the sights and shops of Stellenbosch, Franschoek and Montague. En-route we will visit a wine estate to sample some of the excellent Cape vintages.This route has been chosen for the truly outstanding scenery  Overnight Montague. 

Day 2: Montague to Oudtshoorn
Through the Klein Karoo - visit a working Ostrich Farm. Interesting insight into the industry and the world's largest bird. Arrive in Oudtshoorn, ostrich capital of the World. Museums?  Overnight at a "Feather Barons Manor House" or similar in well appointed en suite accommodation.

Day 3: Oudtshoorn to Knysna
After breakfast we drive through to visit the Cango Caves. We then take the most spectacular of South Africa's Passes - The Swartberg Pass, built by Thomas Bain who commenced construction in 1881 - through to the lovely historical town of Prince Albert. Explore this lovely Karoo town with its waterwheel mills and fascinating museums. We then take the road through Meiringspoort and Prince Alfred's Passes  to Knysna where we overnight at the Knysna River Club or similar.

Day 4: Knysna
Full day tour to sample the delights of Knysna and the surrounding countryside with an optional cruise on the Knysna Lagoon when available. Knysna is known for its indigenous forests, oysters and other fine seafood, art and crafts and wonderful shopping. Lunch can be enjoyed at one of the many restaurants in the area (not included). Overnight at Knysna River Club 

Day 5: Knysna to Swellendam
Visit the Lake district of George, on to the most southern tip of Africa, Agulhas. Overnight in the quaint town of Swellendam

Day 6: Swellendam to Cape Town
Hermanus -  the Whales (in Season we will take a cruise to enjoy the sightings - Gordons Bay, False Bay to Cape Town - Tour ends

Route 62Day 1: Cape Town to Montague

To George where you board the Otiniqua Choo Tjoe - an original steam train - for a scenic trip through the forests and along the lakes and seaside of the Garden Route to Knysna. Overnight at the Knysna River Club or similar.

Day 4:  Knysna
Full day tour to sample the delights of Knysna and the surrounding countryside with an optional cruise on the Knysna Lagoon when available. Knysna is known for its indigenous forests, oysters and other fine seafood, art and crafts and wonderful shopping. Lunch can be enjoyed at one of the many restaurants in the area (not included). Overnight at Knysna River Club.

Take a drive to Plettenburg Bay for lunch.

Prince Alfred's PassDay 5: Knysna to Matjiesfontein
From Knysna we drive the scenic Prince Alfred's Pass then through the Meiringspoort and into the Great Karoo. Overnight Matjiesfontein. This is awesome scenery into an ancient world.

Day 6: Matjiesfontein to Cape Town
Leisurly breakfast today, vist the local museums and then off through the Great Karoo through Du Toits Kloof and on to Paarl eventually arriving in Cape Town.

OstrichDay 1: Cape Town to Oudtshoorn
Depart Cape Town en route to Oudtshoorn. Visit Swellendam, lush, historical town surrounded by spectacular mountains and graced with ancient white washed buildings, for an orientation tour and light lunch. Meander the Tradoux Pass to the Klein Karoo where we visit an Ostrich Farm for an informative tour. Arrive in Oudtshoorn, ostrich capital of the World, in the late afternoon. Overnight at a "Feather Barons Manor House" or similar in well appointed en suite accommodation.

Day 2: Oudthoorn to Knysna
Catch the Outeniqua Choo Tjoe - an original steam train - for a scenic trip through the forests and along the lakes and seaside of the Garden Route. Overnight accommodation at Knysna River Club or similar. 

Day 3: Knysna
Full day tour to sample the delights of Knysna and the surrounding countryside with an optional cruise on the Knysna Lagoon, when available. Knysna is known for its indigenous forests, oysters and other fine seafood, art and crafts and other wonderful shopping. Lunch can be enjoyed at one of the many restaurants in the area (not included). Overnight at Knysna River Club.

Day 4: Cape Town
Return to Cape Town.
